Why write a book about connecting?

Because have you noticed how insular society has become? We’re surrounded by entertainment and convenience—we don’t even have to leave our homes anymore. But something’s missing. People are lonelier than ever.

Our digital age makes it incredibly easy to contact anyone, anywhere… yet most of us don’t.

I wrote Reach Out for anyone who wants to get even a little bit better at connecting—with friends, coworkers, family, or anyone who matters. I’ve always been a connector at heart. Through every stage of my life, that ability has brought me joy, even during hard times.

Some people have called it my superpower. It took me a while to realize it’s something anyone can learn and grow. That realization led me to write this book—filled with stories and examples from my own life and others—to show how you can weave connection into your everyday world.

We don’t have to live isolated. We’re better when we work, live, laugh, and play together.
